I was thinking about that ....does the filter in side works better that a reg filter?

No they aren't gph wise. I would definitely still use a HOB filter. The internal filters are great for getting uneaten food and poop out if you direct a powerhead towards them. The HOB is good for bio.

make space for it in your room. or put it in storage until you have your place. dont pass up a free tank.
