Oscars EGGS 1000 Of THEM

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i had breed in a 700gal tank with a jag pleco tiger x redtail 2 1/2' a silver aro 2 1/2 +' a big ass pacu 3 other oscars and a few other fish and the parents did great keeping all them away i left the fry in till they just started to swim then took them out and put them in a 30 long (trying to get them out sucked the parents keeped bitting me etc..) but they grew very fast on brine shrimp for a week then switched to decp. brine after that they ate all my kulled fish ,bloodworm ,flake and once a week id get a few shrimp from the food store chopped them up and let them at it. as they get to be 3/4" put a few fake plants etc.. so they can hide good luck keep us posted
Thanx meng, and will do,.my tank is not that big so i was able to hide the oscars nest with some towels, they dont seemed to want to be bothered,. this is there first try so i dont know how successful they will be, but an update the parents split a golfish in half was oddest feeding behavior i have seen between oscars have had seven in 10 years.. thanks again!!

woke up this morning and all eggs have been eating by parents,.. either they were spooked ( power outage) or they felt eggs were not strong enough,. i feel they will try again very soon,. i have about four big slate rocks in there for them,. and they seem to like another spot, origanly didnt lay eggs there b.c at the time was other fish and a huge sunken air craft carrier,. now its just them and they tryied once,. i think they may feel more confident,.aswell im not goin to disturb them after a quik 10% water change( they made a organized mess for me )

thanks everyone for advise and being curious

I have a possible pair as well, and from all my questioning I would think so. Some people said 50 gallons per oscars and at least a 150 for a pair. Your setup seems to be fine, do you have any tips on breeding oscars?
