i went to petco today and i purchase this little guy yesterday . Well on the tank it said flowerhorn ,but now im unsure . All your help and expertise would be highly appreciated . One other thing since i got him into the tank all he's been doing is sitting in the corner by the water heater . When i saw him at the petstore he was one of the most active and livest fish in the tank swimming all around but now hes just in the corner of the tank . On another note he is the only one in the tank also with a pleco.

Looks like a flowerhorn.. Give it time to settle in its new environment.. Some ghost shrimps will get it started..

what is dithers and where do they sell that at ? im still a rookie and noob to this stuff lol

Dithers are just fish that fills the space and helps promote activity, promote confidence and they spread the aggression around. I'm not so sure about flower horns but for my fish tinfoil barbs r great dithers

Thanks for the dither info . You guys were right . I just threw in a small guppie for now and he's chasing it all over the tank .

I finally bought ghost shrimp today and man did that work ! I tried feeding him the cichlid pellets and he wouldn't eat it at all . Now that he's ate about 3 ghost shrimp his color is coming back an eyes super red .

coloration comes back with normal acclimation to the tank. I'd stay clear of shrimp from pet stores, they carry a lot of parasites. Go with market shrimp or throw a betta mirror in the tank =D Once fed live, they try to act like they won't eat pellets. Just starve him until he does. I wouldn't recommend a lot of live food for the same reason I stated above, unless you're breeding your own source of feeders.
