Ditch the oscar man. I would say a 180 (6x2x2) as BARE minimum for most species. With bigger always being better. 225 6x2.5x2 is probably the smallest tank id house a bass for life in.

Depends on species id say.... You could raise em in 125 for a while

Spoken like a boss.

For a single bass (depending on the sp.) Tems, azuls, pinimas are a no go in a 180gal. A 180 (6'x2'x2)' would last a good while for the other bass on the market now. You could also house a Oscar in there to, but, you may or my not have aggression issues.
