I'm getting some wild caught festaes . I'm going to grow em out then buy some more festaes to establish a pair or two. They are about 1.5". What cichlids would make good dithers?

I don't if giant danios could take a good beating even though they can probably put swim the festae if chased. I've heard red devils make good dithers.

I personally think you change your fish more than you change your underwear (I hope frequently). So, the festaes will never reach a size where they pair up. Having seen and searched your old threads I can see a variety of different fish (and animals) that have only had a very short stay with yourself. Before dying or being sold or such.

So, I am beggining to think you're trolling constantly. Your TGT (that you had seen both parents of) turned out to be a white saum. After you said it outright wasn't. You bought a RTC and kept it in a paddling pool. Bought a stingray for your 55. Traded that for a red devil?

What size tank have you got for the festaes?

I think you need to get a fish and stick with it. Call me the troll if you wish, but I'm just saying as I see.

Finally, if you are serious about keeping the festae long enough to pair them up. I wouldn't use an RD or even a cichlid for a dither. Because Festae are quite timid to begin with. I would personally go for more festae or SDs. You will need 6+ (IMO) Festae to get a good pair. So the excess will act as dithers. Otherwise SDs are great at taking a beating. :)

Your right grant I do change my tanks up alot. But some the fish I do keep a long time. I've always wanted festaes just never had a tank big enough for them. Its rare that the fish I keep actually die. I can only remember a few of the top of my head . The rtc is about a foot and a half now n I have it with a. Two foot tsn and my white saum witch is about 6" now. That kiddie pool went thru some major upgrades in the past few weeks and now I can say its a proper pond. Fluffy was a rescue the only reason she was in the 55 cause she was in quarentine and then went in my pond till I found her a home and I traded her for a acrylic 117. The midevil I bought the same I got the stingray. I gave her to my uncle cause she was too aggressive. She's still alive and kicking ass. I'm not trolling. Its annoying and wouldn't waste anyone's time like that.

The festaes will be growen out in my 117 then put in my 210 once I build a stand for it cause the wood on the old one is no good anymore it got wet.

Festaes will be the ones I stick with cichlid wise once my 117 is empty I'm gunna turn it to a community display tank.

I have 4 coming in on Thursday. So I was going to get atleast another 4.

I'm gunna call you a troll cause you have a valid point.

Fair enough.

Fair enough.

I could see why you said that though cause now I think about all the fish I've had in the past few months that I bought just to sell is insane.

Far be it from me to judge. But I prefer to keep my fish a little longer.

Anyways, back on track.
More festaes and SDs are my recommendations.
