when i have all my 7 tanks set up perfect i will post pics and vids of my predator fish collection .Only moved them to my new house 3 weeks ago , so still making adjustments/alterations.
Max, Don't put a micropeltes with anything you wouldn't mind losing is the simplest mind set for you to get into because thats precisely how it is.
No one can guide you to whether or not a 36" micropeltes will devour your fish but i can promise you one thing, there is certainly the potential for it to do so.
My two giants are between 26-30 in and if you have experiance like you say you do with your other giants, i couldnt imagine the time, money and most of all hassel of keeping these things through moving and daily maintance they need. let the 3 ft giant go to someone who doesnt have one and has more time and attention to give it.
I wouldn't do it, i tried and failed in my pond he was 28" and totally destroyed two 22"+ monos one night out of no where, it seems to be just a matter of time with these guys.
Picked the fish up on sunday- actual size 30-32"- but cheep at £70
Only had a short distance to travel- 45 mins
Transported him in a 5x2x2 quarantine tank.
the fish was verry stressed when tried to catch him. he jumped out of the pond so had to grab a towel to grab him and get him into my container.
got home removed the temp cover and the fish was on its side!!!!
tried everything to rivive him- apart from mouth to mouth(for obv reasons)- but to no avail !!
totally gutted!!!!!!- ive lost fish before but considering the size of this beast it has to be my worst loss yet!!!
all i can think is he was that stressed he smashed into the side of the container, knocked himself out and drowned!!!- i thought they were hardy fish??
hard to believe as i collected a 24" temanisis bass the same way from further away and hewas fine- and they arnt supposed to travel well
Anyway looking for another 25" + if anyone has one.
