I heard this from a friend....thoughts?

They need to find some original work.... The remakes are getting old... *cracks knuckles* :)

Who wrote it and who's directing?

EDIT: David Ayer, of Training Day and SWAT, among others, is writing it. Good call there. Now to find the director....

Well it was already remade once so it should be expected to be remade again.

Yeah,I'd like to see more books brought to the screen.

Yeah but adapting a book is a risky business... It's hard to get a good compromise between budget and content. As we see all to often... When I say original, I mean original. Let's step away from the books and established franchises for a moment and make a good, fresh story that isn't geared for the 5-14 crowd. Don't get me wrong, I love Disney, but I think that us big kids deserve a fresh story every now and then too....

Anywho, I digress...

Any mention of who will play Montana?

did not mention except that it's not suppose to be a remake, just the same type of scenario/story but not the original characters from either of the first 2 remakes

books brought to life is where it's at. you've already got an audience wanting to see your movies from the book.

A movie will never be as good as the book IMO. Most books that are turned into movies are third person omniscient, or limited. Which means we get into the thoughts and feelings of the character, which a movie can never replace.

i agree but this only applies if you actually read the books. the expansion to a broader audience that includes a really high percentage of non readers is worth it for the director and authors
