Anyone use one of these antique slate bottom metal frame tanks.

This was in my basment when I bought my house 7 years ago. Finally got around to cleaning out Tue bsmt and was about to throw it out when I realized I could put some fish in it. Anyone use these old tanks , pro s con s.

Real dirty and no top the sides and back are a wavey privecy style glass, front is clear and bottom slate. Damn this thing is heavy.uploadfromtaptalk1346770757867.jpguploadfromtaptalk1346770711284.jpguploadfromtaptalk1346770542880.jpg

Yea i had one of those before and they never break... mine dropped from a chair on a concrete floor and didnt even chip.

Looks like a standard 30high, no fill test haven't even cleaned it up. The old fella I bought my house from pointed it out to me and told me it was water tight, at the time I laughed and never thought about it again. Untill I saw its hidden retro beauty as I was about to haul it out to the trash

I used to have one, I love that old vintage look. Just cant find them like that anymore

Pros - you are now considered old/retro.

Cons - Heavy as ****, hard to repair, you are now considered old/retro.

Ive done a couple fixes on these...old tanks that came with the building my lab is in I think. Got one one wheels :D
