My platinum arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's a genetic morph which lack pigment called Leucistic. With that being said, this isn't a Leucistic Jardini. If you want to see it change back into a normal Jardini, try putting it into an all black tank. If it retain it's whiteness(most likely not), then it's a Leucistic. Because Leucistic will stay complete white no matter in what environment. Plus the price is too cheap for a true Leucistic Jardini. Leucistic Jardinis are more rare than Leucistic Silvers. I've seen two types of Leucistic Silvers and only one type of Leucistic Jardini. Try to take picture of this Jardini using flash and show us.

Amazing....like u said if it is put in a black tank and within a week it will show its original colour...but how did it change to white when its original colour is not??

Put a Jardini in all white tank(White tank treatment) and turn on bright lights. It should wash out and look platinum. Usually it doesnt work well on bigger Jardinis. That's why you don't really see people posting up big "platinum" Jardini.

WHITE TANK TREATMENT!!!woah....
Never heard of something like that..does it work on any arowana ?

It's mostly used on Gold Aros to help increase the gold shine level. But it makes the gold color less intense thus people put bright lights to act like a tanning system.

I don't have a camera, I'm using my iPad to take photos..
I hope it's color doesn't fade.. If you look closer, you'll notice the tip of it's caudal fin, tail fin and anal fin are grayish in color. Ismthat a sign that it has gne thru WTT or is just a genetic abnormality?
I'll upload a better picture when I've borrowed a camera.

Yup! Mount_Prion boughta so called 'plat jardini" for 1200 USD but in less than a week it turn out to be a plain jardini that was Whitelight treated. :(

Changed my background to black, will update if aro's color changes. :/
