How Big Is Your NTT?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's a real nice NTT impala. Also, I could be wrong but doesn't T1 have a thinbar with a full necklace or at least used to?

I'm not certain but I think the full necklace is on his ST.

i have 5 NTT's all ranging from 4-7 inches and are really becoming very open and bold as of late. They are eating lots and a good variety of foods, hopefully the next few months they start really growing. There is a 9-10 inch IT that dominates all the dats in the tank, but i plan on moving him out to another tank soon, which hopefully will help the NTT's grow more quickly. Kinda funny, the only fish that stands up to the IT is my 4-5 inch NGT! little sucker has heart, kinda nervous he may takeover as the bully, only time will tell

In my experience with datnoids as long as there's more than one there will always be a NTT, NGT, IT, ST, or even AT that takes over and bullies the rest. Thats just the way they roll. Enjoy their drama because the only way to avoid it is to keep just one.

Yup...you can almost count on it as NGT are usually the most aggressive of all the dats.

i understand thats dats fight, but i have plenty so the fighting is very well spread out, i just think its a funny that nobody goes toe to toe with my big indo, except the smallest of all the dats, the NGT, but i have heard them to be the most aggressive... i have 5 NTT's, 2 IT's and 1 NGT in the tank, with an AT and 2 more IT's growing out

It's not that they max at 12" but then to die by 12" for some reason. I would post mine, but it died last week at 6.5" I have 2 more, but both are under 3" at the moment. There are some members here with NTTs over 12" I'm sure some members have 14"-16"

I am sure most of you seen this picture or my post, mine is dead on 11" o.o'' unknown reason o.o

The dark plague only killed my 3 NTT,my 2 ST are fine, and they are still living :D

Sorry to see your departed NTT, know how you feel, I lost a 10" NTT. Grew him out with six other thin bars, he was thinner than the others and I started hand feeding (with tongs) raw shrimp daily. After around one week of bulking him up I sat down to my morning coffee and witnessed him spaz out, hit the top glass of the tank, sink to the bottom, swim across to the other end and die.

Freaked me out, looking back I suspect the daily raw shrimp was the cause because of a chemical, the name escapes me, but it started with a T, and I've read since that too much raw shrimp is toxic to datnoids because of this certain chemical.
