African cichlid tank 125 gallon question

Okay once my south and central American cichlids die I want to do a African cichlid tank and was wondering what works better together and how many I can do in a 125 gallon tank

Not sure what you mean by "What works better together"... What are your goals for the tank? What are you interested in that you're not sure will work?

As far a quantity: a lot. Currently have only 16 fish in my 125 and it's grossly understocked. I have some of everything from malawi peacocks, haps, and a pair of yellow lab mbuna, as well as some tang. synodontis cats and calvus. The vast majority of readily available African Rift Lake Cichlids grow between 5-9" and the rule of thumb is to intentionally overstock to prevent (spread out) aggression.
 
I want the tank not to be over stocked and for them not to kill each other. I like the bumblebee cichlid but I know they are really aggressive. I don't want to put some thing in there that won't work with the bumbled be cichlid I should have said that before sorry

U have to overstock african tanks so aggression is spread out

You don't have to overstock all African cichlids. Mbuna are the really aggressive ones and need some overstock to spread out the aggression.

You got a long time before all those current fish in ur tank die off

U probly got 6+ years for the cichlids and 10+ for the bichirs

I like to recreate natural habitats of my fish so if thats what your into you have to find a fish you want to focus your tank around. I chose frontosa so then i only got lake Tanganyika fish and some synodontis cats. Its really all preference to what you want. And it depends on what fish you want as to how many you can have. With bumble bees you can do zebras(blue, red, oblique), auratus, and a bunch more. Good luck

Thanks that the info I wanted to know to go off of when it is time. As for aqua monster I know how many years I have I wanted to look at things and do research now that way I knew what I was looking for so.
