Has anyone ever heard of a Flamingo Cichlid? I stopped by my LFS the other day to see what new fish they might have and what I thought were either juvenile Midas or Red Devil were in fact labeled as "Super Red Flamingo Cichlids". They look just like young RD or Midas but have pinkish/red spotting on their fins. Any ideas? Could they possibly be a hybrid of some sort or are they just incorrectly labeled?

You got any pics of them?

Sounds like a fancy made up name for a hybrid cichlid. Sounds like Rose Queen or possible one of those red albino african cichlids or something.

+1 . I wouldn't be surprised alot of lfs do that when they can't Id a fish. When I bought my midevil they had it labeled as a flowerhorn till I told em what it was then bought it.

Very uncommon, old common name for citrinellum/labiatum species, and hybrids of the two. Also saw the name once attached to longimanus, but it was only for marketing purposes.
