Broke my HMG, so it is on it's way back to Fenwick. In the mean time, was looking at new rods.
I like the idea of the carrot stix, and will probably go with that, just read mixed reviews.

It looks like their newer stix are ok, where the older ones were prone to breaking?

Just want your opinions if you ran that rod/other options you like?
Also if you think the micro-guide is truely worth double the wild spinning.

Pairing it with a shimano ci4 not that it makes a huge difference, but would make a very light combo.

I had one of their 24k Gold series rods paired up with a Ci4. It was a very very light combo and perfect for wade fishing all day. My favorite inshore set up ever.

Yes they can break but the people that break them are using braid way over rated for the rod and lock their drags down. They arent jigging rods.

I spooled my Ci4 with six pound test and would sight fish for bonita from the beach, it was a blast. Unfortunately I left it at a boat ramp one day. I set it down to load up my kayak on top of my jeep and a damn goose bit my rear end when I wasnt looking and continued harassing me while loading my kayak. In my rush to leave the feathered beast I forgot to load my rod. Ouch.

Great to hear, and I appreciate you always replying to my posts. Good to hear that the combo is one of your favorites. You do a lot of fishing (I read your threads/am in awe of the pictures, but don't really post in them) so it's good to hear your opinions.

Stinks that you lost that rod, but if there is an upside, it is that story which is pretty entertaining.

In other news....I will get a yak and they seem to be popping up a bit more bc now getting towards the offseason
