I never fed my oscar live food and at 5" it was eating fish that were small enough to fit in his mouth. its instinct, even if you don't notice them going, they will dissapear every now and then

I'm with you...I think an Oscar that will not eat other fish that can fit in their mouth is the exception not the norm....but they do exist. I may end up just leaving the Arulius in there...they are breeding like crazy, so the Oscar would serve as population control...if he eats them all, so be it.

Now that's a monster tank!

Thanks. I like it much better than when I had goldfish in it. Although, I am kicking myself for not going with a background...I think that would really make the tank pop.

Love how the loaches swim in the middle with all the other fish!

It's taken the loaches a few months to become comfortable swimming around like that. I actually had to spot feed them for the first month or two, because they would not come out of the ABS pipe hiding spots I placed in the tank. Two of the larger loaches used to hide in my returns, coming into the top of the tank...that drove me crazy But they roam around like they own the tank now and will swim to the surface to get pellets.
