i think a gatf will not work due to the niping that i saw. when i had my aro in and my pbass the gatf would nip their fins. i think gatf are to aggressive to work long term. now having said that i would have tried it had i still had my gatf instead of my vatf. i just think it wouldnt have worked out so well. i was ready to sell my vatf when i first got this hystrix. i talked to a few people about working out a deal, but at the time we came up with secondary plans. i am glad they didnt work out now because it is awesome.
with this vatf i have found out a few things. aris are ok until they start a fight with the vatf. it gets pushed over the line and snaps. pbass are 50/50 it liked some and hated some. frontosas 30/50 may work may not. some of the group it is non stop swinging at while others it ingnores completely. dats and this vatf are a no go. it ended up getting betten by a 8" dat while they were going back an forth. the dat never stoped while the vatf seems to have sperts of attacks. discus and the vatf are fine. just like the ray. i had to move them out because of the current.

Why waste time commenting on this thread because this guy is a know it all, cannot take criticism and gets all bent out of shape when someone doesn't agree with him?

Besides, I don't see much of a track record here with any of these fish worth commenting on.

so the salesman with an oversized gatf in an undersized tank with the perfict track record speaks. criticism is one thing, but i get bent out of shape when people say i dont know what i am doing. i know that i dont know everything, but nor do you or the others that chimed in on the band wagon of my lack of knowladge. a few people have done the ray atf combo with long term success.
everyone has failures with fish combos, but 99% dont share it in fear of people like yourself and the others that chime in with " oh i knew this wouldnt work...you are dumb for trying and this proves you know nothing." i will post something that doesnt work because this site is a collection of experiences good and bad. without testing the waters an reporting what happened we will never know. now i ask you were is your experiences documented about your group of atf and how it went? they dont exsist. i have looked into your posts and i didnt see anything on them other then when you sold them. so how can you with your vast knowledge help if you dont share it? you cant, your just another salesman with an ego.
it is easy to have a perfict track record when all your post is sales threads. so how many years has you gatf been in an undersized tank now? 6 or is it 7 now? thats is my goal, to be like you so i can brag about my cramped fish.
so how did your ray and vatf conbo work out? you have had to of done it, since you seem to know it wont work out long term.

The local guys I know have seen all my fish can attest to their good condition.
I'm just not like you who likes to brag online about your "accomplishments"...I'd rather just enjoy my own stuff and share it with friends in a more low key manner.
Until you can prove you are capable of keeping something for the long term, there's going to be plenty of people like me skeptical about the junk that you proudly boast about.
BTW, as far as the ray and tigerfish thing, as usual you are totally wrong...it's not a tricky combo like you say it is. If you had more experience with either of these fish, you would know what I'm talking about...

my post add up to about the same as yours only i dont spend 5 mins to make them, i wouldnt waste that much time on you. you want long term look at my gars. you judge me and know little about me. i never said it was a hard combo, you assumed i did. i said i dont think gatf would work from my exp. but i did say i would have tried it. any of the local friends that have seen my setups and fish can back me. i fail to see how sharing my fish with others is braging. i dont run around telling people i have expensive fish or that i have thousands invested in fish keeping, but you seem to think i do because i like to see other peoples tank displays and most of those people want to see other displays. i am an outgoing person that likes to talk about fish. isnt that what this site is all about? if you like to keep things so secret why did you join this site? craigslist didnt cut it for you? i guess if i kept my fish in small tanks i keep them a secret also.
