I am going on a trip to the Peruvian Amazon soon and want to thin out the herd in my overstocked grow out tank, just to keep things safe.
There are 7 red tail payara for sale ranging from 5 to 7 inches in size.
They are healthy with bright red tails and have been in my 100 gallon tank peacefully for the past 4 months...they came in originally at 3 to 4 inches.
Price is $85 each or less if you buy multiple pieces...buy all 7 and you'll get a hot deal.
Pick up locally in La Canada Flintridge CA 91011.
I will ship airport to airport via Southwest Cargo within the 48 states for $100 extra but you must buy all 7!
However, I cannot guarantee live arrival but if you can arrange for a SoCal vendor to ship them for you, I'll gladly drop them off.
These make great shoaling fish and have co-existed with my multiple armatus, south american cats, nile perch and atlantic tarpon.
They are eating large size goldfish and occasionally raw shrimp and massivore.
I haven't tried starving them but they can be trained to eat non-live foods pretty easily...I like watching them eat goldfish!
