What is the best heaters on the market

Exactly. Every heater on the market is made from fairly cheap low quality material, and over the years I have owned or seen every brand out there fail, including all of the brands mentioned thus far.

Personally I run external controllers for just this reason, two devices now have to fail in order for my fish to get cooked. The brand I use are no longer made, but they have been running problem free for several years. Not cheap, but they offer a little extra peace of mind.




I couldn't disagree more, a heating device should never be turned up more than a few degrees above the max of the desired temp. In your scenario if the controller failed (and trust me they do) you now have a situation where you have created the potential of cooking every fish in the tank.
