Anyone ever caught an Oscar while fishing?

Has anyone ever caught an Oscar while fishing? I would expect a crazy fight from a big oscar. Oscars are strong muscular fish that I could picture fighting like the best of the bass. Where did you catch it? I've seen videos online of people catching oscars in Florida.

Never caught one myself but I talked to a guy at a lfs in so cal that said he caught them like crazy in florida. He said the fight was pretty decent for the size but he wasnt catching large ones. They are such huge eaters he said that he couldnt catch anything else because they kept taking his bait so it hurt his fishing trip

Nice! When I go to Florida I'm gonna go for the fishing. Gonna land some oscars. People could keep them in aquariums and get f1 fry and get a couple hundred bucks from them.

Aren't they considered feral and not wild caught because they aren't indigenous to Florida?
I would love to catch some Oscars though!

Actually you won't get a couple hundred bucks from mongrel Floridan oscars....$5 most likely.
