Anyone ever caught an Oscar while fishing?

Oscars are also one of the most ABUSED fish in the industry.

I would be surprised if people were doing this, would be easier to grab some adult from a local store and try to breed them. Although I could see them straight up selling the adults. Most envasive Oscars are no different than what you find in a local store. Although having grown up in a larger body of water I would assume they are not STUNTED like some you see in at fish stores and NOOBY FISH KEEPER'S tanks.

Feral oscars from Florida ain't too popular with most aquarists unless it was albino and even when the oscars are popular, breed them are very tricky.

Honesty most people prefer frying the oscars they caught.

I've caught some. Around the 6"-7" range. They are like a green sunfish when they fight but They are crazy good though to eat. My friend brought home a 13-14" and it was delicious. We haven't caught any in a long time. The cold kill got them a while back. We also catch a lot of tilapia, Hoplo catfish, and various other cichlids. Also I caught a 5"-6" clown knife in a cast net when I was young. That was the cool part to living in Florida. The invasive variety was pretty neat to catch and observe. Although we never killed any of them apart from the big Oscar and a few tilapia for food.

We used to catch oscars in the drainage channels around Miami airport. All of them had wild oscar coloration (no tigers or reds).
I've heard few reports of albinos, reds and tigers being caught or seen by our own members on here. Most likely released by someone that doesn't want them but that is not uncommon.
