Anyone ever caught an Oscar while fishing?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Notice I said people. Not me. Oscars are one of the most common aquarium fish in the industry and can rake in lots of cash. People could catch them and raise and sell the fry. I wasn't ever planning on doing this. I wouldn't be surprised if people are doing that now.

Okay, gotcha, you want to keep them for yourself,fine...I'm not sure if collecting and keeping them is legal or not.

Those are people?

Sorry accidental submittion of the reply. I have seen some "wild" oscars that have great colors. Any pics of some of these Florida oscars?

-Andrew
The TRUE wild caught oscars are more colorful than these Floridian oscars. That's why these mongrels are not popular with most people. They are popular with anglers...not aquarists.

No, they are listed under the Florida fish and wildlife conservation commission as a non native, non game fish.

-Andrew
They are offical sportfish that's for sure.
