I think when they get larger you will notice the different if there is any, we dont have any petsmart etc here but a few bigger clowns I have seen do have a difference in color when large. some go very blank why other hold there color. This may be something else but I am not the best with loaches.
What's going rate for a 6-7inch clown loach?

I had a clown I bought at about 1.5" and he grew to about 2" in like 3 months. They are one of the slowest growers in the aquarium hobby. I wouldn't be surprised if it took a year for a loach to reach 8". Sadly mine got eaten or else he would have been a decent size.

NYC has ridiculous prices for everything. I'm not looking to grow anything out anymore takes too long and I have a bare 220g now.

I hate when these threads get riddled with bad information. Clowns grow painfully slow. the dominent fish typically has a growth spurt and stays an inch or 2 bigger than the pack. Anyone who says they can consistently grow cl's to 7" in 6 months is not stretching, they are lying.
I said I anticipated. I don't appriciate you calling me a liar. I may be misinformed, niave or just plain ignorant, but I am not a liar. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage is what I live by, and it is what I will die by.
I apologize to anyone who now thinks I am a liar due to the exagerated remarks made about my clown loaches' growth rate. It was not my intention to mislead, derail or disregard fact.
