Introducing new coral = killing most of my fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So sorry OP! Best of luck to you in your recoup! I thought I was gonna die when I lost my scooter blenny....I could only imagine losing them all except for one of the clowns...

this is off topic but....What is that orange bumpy-lookin thing there on the bottom....Under the damsel?

did any water from the snail bag got in the water? If there were dead snails on arrival and a good amount of the water got in the tank, that may be the cause perhaps..it is kinda odd that all the sudden all your fish died. sudden change in water chemistry is the only thing that make sense to me.

No none of the water got in. Well when I test my tank we'll know. And how would I reduce ammonia? I did a water change and I have a tub of ammonia reducer so I put some of that in, Is that enough?

Ignore the basics and they'll comeback to get ya - no fish owner fresh or salt should be without a test kit nor should any treatments be performed without testing prior. You should know your water parameters like the back of your hand esp. with salt, even more so when keeping and adding corals. At this piont it's all just opinions and guesses.Treating the wrong problem can be more detrimental than not treating at all.

Well since no one asked...
How old is the tank?
Did you properly cycle the tank, or were you just adding something like a "nitrifying bacteria in a bottle" to help seed the tank?
