Stinger/Barb Collection Anyone???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will be trying armatus again soon. I think it has something to do with feeding smelt. Also water conditions.

Im getting another 450 gallon pretty soon so i will have some extra room to experiment with them

I just saw an armatus vid from japan and they had 3 large armatus doing good in a small tank... This vid makes me mad

That's funny, I had a few little teeth in with mine as well. Nowhere near the size of Fang's though.

Still to this day it really irritates me about Armatus. It's too bad we don't understand why we can't have better luck keeping them. Looking back do you have any guesses as to what might be happening with them? You definitely seemed to have a lot better luck then some of us..... :)

Keepin any thoughts on the Armatus???

And you know if you didn't have so many nice black rays swimming around you might have a few more quarters laying around. Took me all afternoon fishing in my couches to find that one. :( lol

honestly i have no idea the Armatus secret. i have lost a few myself.. I would like to try Armatus on a tank where they wont get spooked... if that means from me cleaning algae, or from other fish or crazy active rays that could stress the armatus for a min and cause them to hit glass or obstacles suddenly.
I would also like to see if adding this sterilizer would help as i have seen a huge difference with my rays. Maybe this high PH and hard water also is part of the issues???

Nothing fancy with mine, just keep them in a old Vitamin bottle. The longest is 3 1/4 inches
