I just set up a new tank for my little 4 inch elver, I used new gravel, 15 gal of water from my 55gal with 5 gal of fresh conditioned water. I'm using one of my filters that was running on the 55gal a 50AC. I put in some stress zyme + from api as well. Is there enough BBB? Will this be a good grow our tank?

1" per month or more.. imo your biggest concern will be getting it to eat. whatever substrate you use make sure its not sharp.. and provide lots of hiding spots with either pvc tubeing, driftwood, live plants. rocks and fake decor ime will scratch them up. they also like steady current so make sure there are no dead spots in the tank for water. it will hide until it hits 12" if its healthy ime. they need high oxygenation. and are also prone to parasites/diseases so should be de wormed with a prazi product sooner rather then later.

a well cared for fire should hit 18" or more by 2 yrs.

You need to plan to get a much larger tank, at least 125 gallon. They are escape artists make sure there are no open areas in your hood. I had one in my 150 and it found a way out. I thought the hood was secure but it proved me wrong.

It has eaten a few blood worms but I need to find away to make it more comfortable, I'll pick up some pvc tubes today and make some more hiding spots for him.
I do plan on getting a 200gal 96inch long tank, within a year just need to find the best deal constantly searching I have 3 little datnoids as well In a separate 55gal tank so I know I'll need a monster tank :)
