firemouth too shy to eat

hi, my new firemouth is too shy to eat i got him yesterday and fed him and he just swims up to the food and then got scared and swims away i also got a green severum and he eats fine the firemouth is 2 inches and the severum is 2.5 inches heres a pic of him

Don't worry he should come around in a few days.He might even give your sev some trouble.Firemouths can be bullies.

I have 2 myself ...you probably shouldn't worry ...as soon as he gets used to the new surroundings he should be fine....

I hav 4 but i put em in there own tank for a week to make sure they ate... Tey feeding the other fiah at the surface and then drop some flakea or whatever so they sink rifht infront of him

Thanks for the replys I'll buy some small hikari sinking pellets because he stays at the bottom of the tank and the pellets I feed at the moment float and my 4 inch blood parrots eat them, my severum can take care of himself quite well, he defends himself and even steals food from the parrots
