Weel, there is a story to this guy. He was $10. and an hour and a half drive, one way. Anyway, he's coming from a 55g with no tankmates, no lighting, and no decorations. Plain tank. I acclimated him and added him to my heavy planted, stocked out, lit up 90g. I think he went into shock. I turned out the lights and he's just kinda hanging out on the bottom. Stress bars are roarin' and I am just hopin' he's gonna be cool.

His left eye is a bit cloudy and looks like he might have a tiny bit of HITH. Gonna have to stay on top of that.I havent even checked on him and it's killin' me. I wanna go in and turn on the lights and watch him. Just tryin' to let him chill.

What was the perams of the water he was in vs yours? How long did you acclimate? This is a fairly hardy species and it sounds like it was already in a stressful situation, GREAT pickup. This species takes about two full weeks to acclimate well and get used to their surroundings. Give it time and he will be fine. Once he heels up and gets back on track we can get him ready for shipping to me :)

wow, great color for 7/8" :grinno:

Should I keep the lights down to a minimum? Or just keep them off for the day and get it back on schedule tomorrow? He's healthy as could be. He's got a big old gut on him also. Never checked his parameters. Good to know you consider him hardy, i worry about 'em when first introduced.

Keeping the lights off is a good thing to do for a few days, be patient. I do the same thing. Did the previous owner give you any background on it? F0, F1 etc.?

Said he was WC, so I guess thats F0? Anyway, he's chillin' at the bottom and no ones bothering him. He's very still and hiding in the plants. Surprised because he's the biggest dude in the tank yet he's still very timid. Any suggestions on what I should do with him tomorrow.

I'm at work tonight until tomorrow morning. It's probably better for him because I'd wanna keep shinin' my light on him to check on him. He should have a nice peaceful night tonight. I'll bug him when I get home.

Well today he's much better. All over the tank and getting a little more brave. The one parrot has adopted him and shadows him all over the tank. I havent seen him eat yet. Here are Day 2....
