Shipping Disaster

If you spend $200 bucks on a fish then you can spend the extra to overnight it with insurance. I have shipped and received many fish in the mail including one that took 4 days that did fine.

The shipping time is not the problem. Let's say he did go with overnight and USPS still messed up. He would still be screwed out of his fish and the shipping fee. However, insurance would help a lot.

Just had this happen to me with USPS a couple weeks ago. The package still hasn't arrived (of course, the fish are long dead anyway). But, I went express guaranteed, so both the shipping price and value of the package was refunded to the sender, and I'm getting new fish shipped out next week.

I mean its one of those things! What do you say? What do you do? Your helpless, and in my case screwed out of your money, and fish. Hope some people on here read this and learn from my mistake!

I believe if you send it via USPS, they have a guaranteed overnight delivery or they pay for it.

You can file for a full refund. But sometimes, I feel like money isn't the issue. Let's say you bought fish that are rare or were special(proven pairs, last batch, etc). It's hard to find another chance. I just don't get why they're so lax on their methods. It's no wonder that they're losing out to the other shippers like FedEx and UPS. I had a UPS shipment that didn't come on time because of an error on my part. I had misplaced a number on the address form and they couldn't find my location. I called in and spoke to the operator. She took my request and got in contact with the driver in no less than 5 minutes. She called me back right after and the driver came within 30 minutes. The difference in service is blatantly obvious.

I think you make a great point there. They havent done anything to go out of there way and help the situation. I even called the USPS representative for the Mid Atlantic District, and what she said to me was "well it looks like we are in a wait and see kind of approach" I just sat there in disbeleif. It is unreal.

You have also learned am extremely valuable lesson: Never, ever use USPS for shipping fish.
