That hedgie is soo cute!

My wife used to keep those until she got pregnant. If he starts dropping quills, I would get him out of that wood chip bedding, it often harbors mites that make them lose quills.

I change the enclosures daily and microwave the bedding before it goes into the cages. So far so good

Good stuff! Hedgies are awesome. Surprisingly interactive little guys, kinda like a mini dog. We had to get rid of them though because apparently their dander and poo really bad for a pregnant woman, like cat litter.
