The water change challenge!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this thread is pointless, doing WC is to keep your tanks clean and keep your fish healthy, not doing it fast and potentially kill your fish!

I drain and fill all at the same time. Takes about an hour or more but I change about 250 gallons of water in my tank during that time. Hose going into the tank as a drain and a python on the tap pumping the right temp of water back into the tank. Once I even out the flow I just walk away and come back later. Will be nice once I get my drip system all going but far better than using buckets

We are all entitled to our own opinion. If you can do it quickly and carefully go for it. This thread is also helpful for those of us wanting a new or easier way to do water changes

I change about 130-140 gallons a day total (four tanks) without lifting a finger. Automatic water change wins! :headbang2

Lol. if Temp and ph are the same and water is treated it doesn't matter how fast you add it...

Lighten up little, there's plenty of other threads out there you know

I fill my tank with a natural well that is pumped up. The water is perfect as I have had it tested only problem Is its cold. I'd like to set it up so that it drip feeds my tank but because it's cold is there any way I could warm it before it enters. I could in theory do away with my filters then

You could pump it into a holding tank to heat it and then pump it to the tank. Or if you do a drip feed the temperature probably won't change much depending on the volume of your tank and how fast the drip is.
