I have 1 4inch ebjd 1 5 inch parrot cichlid 1 2inch female con 1 4inch pictus and 1 1inch jack dempsey, a few gold mystery snails and heavily planted running a eheim 2217 a ac30 and a topfin 60 for filters, thinking of grabbing a severum and a few loaches, too much you think?

About half of my loaches prior to turning off the lights always gather in the middle of the tank...other half already retired to their holes...

I don't do it like you all but I think if the water is good and the fish have room to move swim and turn around go for it!

No i dont think so. If the water parameter are good, water change are made and the fish as room to swim and turn around . what is the problem.
You are keeping fish captive ..... even if you had just a few fish in a 1000g you are still keeping fish captive so lets not get overzealous here.
