Cichla Sao Francisco

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
All I see is a lot of preaching to the chore and BS in here .. Us OGs know the deal and I'm sure toy can sense who they are! There is plenty of exports still out of brazil, I know this for a fact.. (**** I have fish arriving to me on tuesday!) Either a cichla is wild and 100% from it's collecton point making it born and raised there in its original wild habitat and the parents on which they were reproduced from are as well OR IT'S NOT! IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THIS INFORMATION, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT LISTEN THEM RIVER SPECIFIC AND LABEL THEM AS WILD CAUGHT > THIS IS 100% MISS JUDGMENT! PERIOD.. There is too much BS in the trade these days and everything is based off of making a dollar and not on the hobby anymore! Shame! Look at the azul/kel CAPTIVE HYBRIDS! Your going to try to tell me that this isn't the same fish Wes just imported?! HA

I'm glad you are joining the importing business. And can you find out where did I ever try to sell them as wild. I stated simply as Cichla sp. is that wrong? And labeled Sao Francisco from Darboy's fish. Thought he knew something I didn't know. Notice he got his a few weeks before mine even.

I feel for you man, don't let a few mess up your thinking of what you know is right.I have seen you bring in some amazing stuff.

+1
I never had an issue with Rare Fish Imports (Wes)
Always accurate ID's
Always live.
He even helped me get my paypal account ( I was such a newbie )
I think I have enough credibility on this site to vouch for anyone. +1 for Rare Fish , he's good to go in my book.

I bought a bunch of 1" mahseers labeled as putitora. Even was listed on the import papers and confirmed by a mahseer expert. As soon as Wes discovered that there was a potential they weren't, he notified and offered me a full refund. These weren't even high priced fish. Come on.......defraud????

For the record, there are a bunch of putitoras in the lot I got.

Email me. I don't want people to get so mad at me here. Lol. I think I'm going to stop bringing in rare fish now. All my fish keepings and imports are all lies!!! I don't even exist.
oh don't let those baffoons stop you from doing what you do best. As you can see you got a good bunch of people that is supportive of what you do for the hobby. I can vouch for Wes he's a good vendor.

How rediculous......a guy who has introduced us to so much that would have never been seen.....get a life......no one is defrauding anyone......good god! I will always buy my fish from Wes and no one else.....smells like jealousy....What a nice thank you to an importer......Matter a fact I have a couple of these bass on order now.......

Shady buisness reguardless. They were labeled as wc fish.
SO were the azuls.
There is a lot of back tracking going on here.
If a fish is in contact w/ human hands and placed in a pond or holding pin that makes it captive. It cant swim down to his old holes...he is trapped. He cant go hang out with his baby mamma betty down the river cause he is trapped w/ ugly jane. Cmon! Really? I have no problem paying for quality cb fish. If the fish are carefully selected the offspring should continue to look better each generation...just like rays. But its the importers, suppliers, middleman and vendors that pass of f1 cb fish as wilds. That is bs! If the fish were nice high quality f4..f5 etc they would probably look amazing! And would be worth paying a higher price. Like nid said....in sg cb azuls are goin for $28sg dollars. That makes sense....we all know that there is atleast a few guys breeding azuls. NOt just a pair in sg. SO ya...the market price SHOULD drop. Once a the bahias started flooding the market the prices dropped drasticly. Ive heard of bahias goin for $45. Is there still a demand for them...yes.

We dont want any of our well respected vendors to quit importing fish. We just want them to be straight up...HONEST.

I've only purchased a few times from Wes and haven't seen or spoken to him in over a year. So I'm not speaking for him.

It's very simple, you define WC one way and Wes is defining it another as we can see above. I remember about 6-8 months ago this subject came up and Wes clearly defined how Dealers and Exporter are defining WC which is the same as what he is saying today. Perhaps Wes should have this stated on his vendor forum.

I've seen those $45 Bahias with bent tails and deformed heads. I think they call those inbreeds.

Ken I didn't pay $45 for mine. A few others got some at $45 from mark at discus origins. I paid around $60 for my bent tails. I was offered my $ back if I killed the fish. I didn't feel that was neccesary and kept the fish.
