I want 1 sooooo bad. I was gonna keep it outside. Found a good price on 1 too. I was thinking it would be a gift for my mother who just finished surgery and is coming home today. It would be facing Eastward in a large pot in the center of a table around a bunch of outdoor couches. Their is a bunch of huge 200ft+ pine trees about 100ft away that will block some sun as I believe it likes SOME shade, not a lot but some (~20%). Pics of the wisteria on google (not mine).

The root system alone on wisteria is massive nevermind the actual size of the plant, iv eheared of people keeping them in a pot short term but water requirements and space issues will quickly make you change your mind. Wisteria is a vine that grows very quickly and if you did stick it on a table in a pot under good conditions it will very quickly wrap around everything. There is a srandardized form ( trained to look like a tree) but suckers will grow from the bottom and soon vine over everything as previously mentioned.....if you want a viney plant thats a little slower growing that will flower all season try mandavilla, or morning glories.

How about a bonsai form?

Just because its bobsai'd doesnt mean smaller it was trimmed rigoriously to get it that way and maybe even chemically dwarfed....bonsai isnt a buy it now, pretty forever, thing it takes dedication to keep them looking good...and wisteria only blossoms for about three weeks out of the year....just food for thought
