Sad to live in the USA

Actually, it's believed the initial releases were due to the asian practice of 'ceremonial animal release'. A tradition where the person releasing an animal back to the wild will gain favor from the gods. One known release was a young man who released a pair of market snakeheads for luck the day he was to propose to his girlfriend.

There are several decidedly unromantic things about this. Not the least of which is that the word "snakehead" should probably never be part of a proposal.

Only a fool would be sad to live here just because they can't have a certain kind of fish. A smarter person would realize that if they live in DC they could catch them all day long in the Potomac. They are right there, practically in your face.

Now I'm not some kind of conservative, flag waving, bible thumping, gung ho, proud to be an american Nutjob, but I do believe that both Snakeheads and Asian Aros are totally LEGAL in North Korea. You should probably move there and check it out.

both are legal in Germany.
Its easier to reach for Americans
Food availability is nota a problem

But people are as unfunny as Kim Il Sung

:-D

If you're American and want to own a snakehead, fgo to Florida and fish for marulius, or go to the Potomac and catch some argus.
But dont forget to cut the heads of ;-)

i actually know i a guy who has owned a snakehead for over 10 years..... he also lives in ca, breeds aros and all kind of fish but he told me he has no plan on breeding the snakehead lol it looks nice has very nice white arrows going down its back looks crazy

Personally I just go WOW when I consider how junked some people get over the fish hobby. Im sure you could move out of the us and enjoy life in say a communist based country, or perhaps a third world tropical country where the fish live in abundance.

How about rather than whining about not being able to keep what you can not due to very valid legislation you be thankful for what do have or can have.

I am sure that the massive damage being done by the release of non native invasive species that are decimating entire ecosystems is just a little bump in the road.

You can always get a snakehead t-shirt? or mounted wood carved sculpture, or something of the like... off the internet, as an alternative?!! :)
