My 30 gallon tank get dirty pretty fast like there is crap everywhere even though i suck the gravel up with a plastic sump thing.. I have 2 HOB filters that can be used up to a 50 gallon.. Need some suggestions of good filters or if i should get a different style of filter and whats the best..

Do you have catfish? Those seem to keep the bottom of all my tanks clean. As for filters, canisters are always preferred over HOB because they have much bigger media space to get all the crap. Also be sure to clean out the media in your filters every month-2.

Go get yourself a Aquaclear110, bar none the best HOB filter around. It is media friendly and 400gph, i use one in both my 40gallon breeders and i use 2 of them in my 75gallon. You are always going to get a buildup of crap on the bottom of your tank, even with good filtration id suggest weekly water changes depending on your stock...BTW what do you have housed in this 30gallon

you should try more water changes ...thats the easiest way to get the tank clear or the substrate clean....:)

You could feed your fish only 1 time daily, or once every 2 days.
Feeding is the source of the problem. It is where poop comes from.

Thanks for the help.. Right now i have a tiny 3 inch Indo dat and a 3 or 4" arapaima.. Yes i know the 30 gallon is VERY temporary especially for the arapaima!! I am aware that arapaima need at least 1,000 gallons to hold it so i don't need people posting bs!! Im not keeping it long.. maybe moving it to a 100 gallon then when it grows that out i will sell it for sure!
