I want to get a 72x24x17, 125 Wide bichir tank.

My only criteria is that it doesn't leak and destroy my house.
With that being the only criteria,
Would a glass $520,
or an acrylic $845 be a better choice?

Since people are putting up all these posts about their acrylic tanks cracking...

Are you buying from glasscages.com because that's there price. I actually bought a 125 wide (72x24x27) 3 months ago from glasscages.com and couldn't be more pleased. Good quality build. If glasscages is what you're looking at I'll give you more of a full review...but I have that same footprint for my Florida gar and absolutely love it.

Mine's glass by the way and ain't goin anywhere! Lol. It's pretty stout.

i have a large acrylic tank now and i will definitely go glass next time around. It seems like every time i look at it there is a new scratch.

that 125 wide at those dimensions is 200 gallons lol but a glass tank would be fine

Ya i'm looking at glasscages.com
Looks like glass is the consensus thanks!

Good luck! They are built pretty well IMO, and I didn't even have to load it into my truck, the two guys that shippe the tanks did it all for me lol

Links?

At that size glass wouldnt be too bad. I just got a 374g (96x30x30) in acrylic becasue of how heavy a glass one would be...and I wanted to try out acrylic since I never had one.
