Well my neon jewels laid and hatched again I normally leave them in the community tank and dont think twice about anything making it past 24 hours. This time my wife decided she wanted to try and save them. So I pulled out a 10g I had in the garage and filled it with tank water and put in a a fake plant and some rocks from there tank and then added an established sponge. My question is kind of what now? do I have to change the water every day? is there an alternative to feeding them live I doubt Ill have the time. Will crushed pellets work 2-3 times a day? how about temp I dont have an ext heater lying around but the room stays about 75. Ill probably just buy a heater how about temp though? same as the adults 78? Any other helpful hints for a first time "breeder" . I think after this batch I may invest in a breeder box as I dont really have room for this 10 its sitting on the floor in front of the 55. Thanks~!

Temperature shopuld be set at 78-82 degrees........

CHange the 50% of the water every day for the first month.......

Feed the fry baby brine shrimp 2-3 times a day............

don't expect a 10G to last you very long or you'll have a die off... you'll need larger for raising fry. use a sponge filter or make an internal/external fry safe. as said feed bbs (can be bought in blister packs) 3-4 times a day but don't overfeed. keep the tank clean but be cautious not to syphon the baby's up. maybe add some java moss to encourage infusorians in their early days because they'll feed on that too.
i'd say the only problem you'll have is with the size of your grow out tank...

I feed fine crushed up flake food and it does well for my fish. Other than that keep the temp up about 81 and its a normal tank.

DO not be complicated......Setup three 55-60g tanks................

No way wife would let that happen but a couple 10s and 20z hidden somewhere I can get away with. I'm not looking to make money or do a breeding project just trying to keep as many alive as possible to trade in or keep in my communitys. Thanks for the advice all I have about 25 left alive still and they already look bigger to me in a few short days.

THIS IS WHY I DON'T HAVE A WIFE!

why let someone control you? Imo a good wife will support anything and everything you do! And a gf is way easier to cut ties with and CAN'T take your money if you leave. Marriage is bs, I've seen both my mom and dad divorce 3x each!

And besides when a better gf comes along its easy to switch, why settle when you can keep upgrading lol.

Ps. Make sure she reads this, I'm sure then you can do what u want.
