News reports is grim, and I hope u all be as safe as can be. Here in Hawaii, we had a tidal wave warning that fortunately for us, was not very powerful. I'm definitely not prepared for long term power outages. Loss of my fish at this point would be eminent. I know that talking about saving fish doesn't compare to human lives saved, but this is a hobbiest site, so With this said I am starting my emergency preparedness kits to include a backup plan for my fish. I'm going to get a power generator, install power inverters in both our trucks, invest in some battery powered air pumps. What do you guys think? What are you guys doing to prepare? Again, my heart goes out to New York and it's citizens. Be safe everyone, look out for one another. Aloha.

It definitely hit NY hard it flooded my old neighborhood in Manhattan.

This thread is much better, and my heart goes out to all these people. It's so hard just sitting here in Indiana while everyone's in sheer mayhem on the coast.... My family is there as well, and I couldn't even get ahold of them today, so I've been slowing freaking out, it was very hard to get thru the work day, and some horrible words by a couple mfk members has just made me incredibly upset. Praying to god I find out some news ASAP.....

Thanks guys being born and raised in New York.its crazy to think that sandy put those same streets I used to roam as a kid under water. I've heard that the city might not ever be the same cause of all the damage done to the train stations. Most of my family is spread through out the city. My preys are with them as well. Is it true the the mayor of NY didn't want a recovery fund for new yorkers?
