I've had my silver aro for about a year he is about 13". I have fed him hikari jumbo carnisticks. In the past few months he has lost total interest in the pellets. I moved to krill which he loved for a few weeks and again is ignoring them. I have seen him grab them off the bottom should I try massivore? Any other diet recommendations?

Sounds like you overfeed him, try not feeding for a few days then feed him whatever it is you want him on as a staple! Pellets are quick, healthy and very easy!

If he takes them id only feed 1x per day.

Do not feed for a full day, go buy some crickets and keep them in a container and meal worm. Try feeding him that. He. Should love it! Put one cricket in and set a timer for 30 min. If it is gone when you come back throw one more in. If it is not eaten in 10 min take it out and try meal worm. The same thing, he should love them both. Remember once he starts eating this it stick with floating things. Arrows should not eat things off the bottom is becomes a bad habit that will ruin life for tank mates. Arrows go great with bottom dwellers and each should be fed opp. Food so there Is not fighting over food.

I've always fed him once a day. Are you saying that maby over feeding one day may have turned him off of the carnisticks and the the krill shortly after? What other foods should I try. I'm still trying to figure this fish out.

Your arowana is far from being overfed. However skipping some feeding may help. Try feeding every other day or even every third day for awhile, don't increase feedings until your aro eats aggressively. Also go back to feeding the carnisticks, with ocassionally feeding the krill.

+1. Keep alternating what you feed him everyday. Shrimp, smelt, tilapia, carni sticks. Would you want to eat cheeseburgers everyday?

His tank mates eat the carni sticks so he sees them everyday. I was offering him krill with success for about 3 weeks. I let them eat first then feed him the krill when they have calmed down. Now he shows no interest in the krill. I'm going to try the tilapia and meal worms. Thanks for your ideas guys.
