I have been looking into it for a while and I am interested in making my own fishing lures. Such as spinners, crank bait, stick Bait, etc. All I need to get is a lathe. I found a lathe for $135 and it looks to be perfect for what I need. I'm just going to need to get a job and save a little bit. Anyone who makes their own fishing lures? Any pics of the lures you make?

I made some wood plugs which i used for king mackerel in florida. Haven't made one in a while though. For more info go to stripersonline they have a very good lure making section.

ive made some out of beer caps found that on youtube a while back lol somehow hooked a bass with it a while back just in my tackle box for memories hahaha

I made a 3.5" top water plug(When I tested it it swam 2" below the surface for some reason). It's similar in shape to a zara spook. I carved it out of a piece of pine with an exacto knife.

You can just buy thick dowels and then cut it to size and shape with handle tools it's very simple to do if your mechanically inclined however the not so simple part is when you have to paint them if your like me and have zero artistic ability it can be a challenge....if you look at the paint job on my lures you would think a 4 year old painted it lol or if you wanted an even easier way out I get sent a catalog every month they have websites you can order from also that you can buy blank fish lure bodies they have any type of lure you want you order the bodies depending on the lure usually you can get deals like 10 for 10 deals or sometimes a little more or less depending on the size and type of lure you buy it's very cheap then they ship you the body's you have to paint them because most are clear plastic some are wood but most plastic so paint them put eyelits in put rings for your hooks throw some hooks on and your good to go...your 14 bro safe your money if you want to make your own lures try some of these methods that will be cheaper on you

nice work Farox. those look great! Any pics of fish with your lures hanging out of the mouth?
I pour most of my bigger swimbaits. I throw a lot of 8-12" baits At their $40 price tag, I was tired of losing 2-3 baits a trip (once a week). It's basically a copy of a Huddleston but with a square tail that actually kicks.
