Study more and then tell, look at the thread that tell you how to distinguish between IT and ST, is very obvious. the 4th bar that start from dorsal fin, IT have this 4th bar join direct down to anal part, while ST do not have this 4th go dawn to bottom of body, it sometime found join up to the bigger bar of peduncle, or sometime just on dorsal fin. peduncle bar of ST is one big bar and 1 small bar, while IT is both small bar on peduncle.

You must of missed the "T" also. That's an IT Dat. A nice one too! I would say worth $400 easy. I wish my IT's were that big.

Crap, your right! That looks like a ST. Thanks for the link! Thats a good write up on the differences of ST and IT Dats

Very nice dats whatever type they are!

I'm 50/50 on which one it is, but usually easier to distinguish when in the water. At least according to the people that have been in the Siamese game for a while. Just my opinion.

But................ I will say this. Most people that I have observed here on MFK bringing True Siamese Tigers out of water to share amongst us are only able to do it with TWO hands. ;)

I'm quoting my own post, lol. But.... got a question. My 2 hand comment was there thinking true Siamese Tigers are very large. Are there any smaller "one handers" out there?

You have a good point. The last wild caught ST's of any quantity was about 6 years ago. Since then the wild caught ST's have stopped shipping. Of course we all know they haven’t been breed in captivity so............ All ST's in an aquarium are at least 6 years old and that would be a huge fish (two hands)

its a nice fish no matter what, either IT ST or CT, as long as you like it, thts all that matters.

not true, it takes about 10 years for a datnoid to reach 20"+
so lets say about 2" a year on average ( once they get bigger they grow very slow, i've had 7 widebars ranging from 5" to 18" )

so a 6 year old fish would be about 12" +.

that last pic is for sure a widebar. no reason to bash this mans fish, they are gorgeous non the less.

I agree with this. Sweet ST
