Can i keep more than one aro in a single tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The rule of thumb is either 1 or 4 or more.

the idea is to reduce aggression towards one target. If you have 2 fish, the bigger one will simply pick on the other. But if there IS a bully he can spread his anger around to other fish.

Now this obviously doesn't mean it is supposed to be taken as gospel. I had two silvers together from 5" and grew them out to just over a foot, and they got along fine. Perhaps the occasional nip at one another but nothing serious.

To the op... You just got this tank and about 2 weeks ago dodnt know what the notrogen cycle is... I feel ir movong too fast. You need to slow your roll amd focus on the ones you have mpw.... Imo u ahouldnt have even got the 2nd aro because you couldnt keep the other 2 alive before u got the first one you have now... Your not practicing fish keeping very smart right now. Just my thought

I have 2 silvers together in one tank and they're perfectly fine. I bought them together when they were babies with their yolk sacs. They would sometimes eye each other out and swim in circles but that's about it.

Probably siblings, as said. It is much easier, imho

more than likely two arowana's would fight, you would be very lucky to find two that would live together. I have a 8ft 2f.5ft 2.5ft tank once your Arowana has grown to over 2ft & is very wide it will look great in your 8ft tank.
You could get other fish like flagtails , tinfoil barbs, tiger fish , stingrays.

If your fish has been on his own for a while in your tank he will of established his territory & will fight with your new Arowana which would more than likely kill the fish from stress
