So keeping temp at 86 for a few weeks is good. Then should I bring the temp down to 82 again.

+1 after you see no more. Continue to treat for an additional 2-3 weeks to ensure complete cure.

If I don't want to add any salt should I raise temp to 88-90 for a couple weeks.

I would have done this to begin with, if you read the link... the high temps not only speed up the cysts life cycle but will actually kill the free floating larva... i also combine it with more frequent water changes just to cover my bases ( imo you can not to to many or too frequent water changes, hecne why alot of people have drip systems... its the stress of doing the water changes you have to watch out for) I don't use salt, or meds... and I haven't lost a fish to ick in years. and I feed live on a regular basis...

Ick medication, particularly ones with copper in them will bomb your biological bacteria colony and force a re-cycle on the tank - check your water perameters if you haven't yet... your describing stressed out fish in poor water atm =dead or dying fish. Salt forces the fishes osmo center to work over-time.. in short periods this can help the fish discard the ick, and protect vital and sensitive gill tissue, why salt is often suggested when ammonia spikes are high ect... long term exposure to higher levels of salinity ime do more harm then good to fish, stressing the animals further and complicating recovery. P-bass are hearty fish.

GL, and sorry for your loss and hope the rest recover for you just fine.

You should see a noticable difference in 3 days tops.. more likely over-night.. and Ick generally holds to a 30 day life cycle.. so keep your temps up for a few more weeks and you should be fine. If you've been doing 10% weekly.. do 20% every other day for the next week or 2... and test your water to see if you should be doing more, imo you're liekly going to have some water issues with the addition of the meds. If your not sitting at 40ppm or less on average your 10% weekly should be stepped up... higher levels of nitrates ime will trigger ick ( imo from physical stress on the fish from the higher levels, once I started keeping my nitrates under 60ppm, I haven't had a ick outbreak since.)

IF your still haveing issues after 3 days... as in its getting worse, or the same. then I would start medication... but ime this is rarely needed. iir 1 strain of ick parasite can stand the higher temps and usually requires the meds. But i'm not sure if it's more heresay, or actual fact.
