FIREMOUTH AND AFRICAN HYBRID (PICS!)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have heard that eggs are not fertile whenb jds and Os crossed. Jds and Os are on the same contenent. jewls are not so there is even a lesser chance of that being possoble. it could have been crossed with a rare fish that none of us know, I don't know.

Also not possible
I had atually Read your hybridization guide in your signature BEFORE posting this, and kinda KNEW it wasnt possiable but i just wanted to be sure (picture looked convincing...)
BTW, is that beardie in your avatar YOURS?

Come on really? seriously some of the things I read here makes me feel like the intelligence of the forum has hit a downward spiral in the last 6 months.

JUST because a fish has characteristics of 2 other fish does not make it a hybrid. there are no instances EVER of african cichlids and american cichlids hybridising. Most african and american cichlids will have combinations of species that will hybridise and then some fish just won't hybridise with anything at all. Shows how much the OP knows about fish that they didnt think that maybe there are other fish in the same family as firemouths...
