Platinums can have a little black spotting. The amount of black determines the quality of the platinum- Absolutely no black with a matte finish is considered a "snow" gar-the best of the best. A shiny white "silverish" appearance with no black is an A grade Platinum. Minimal black spotting by the tail fin is still considered Platinum. Anything else-is well anything else.

For those that are curious, this is a Grade B Platinum gar. Thats why it has some black stripes. I was shocked when I received the quotations for the Grade A Platinum gar.
I'd grab one though, but its not easy to come by, so I just grab this piece first. I'm setting up a new tank for it, currently its still in a 1 feet tank.
I'm not sure what breed is it. But I was told its a Platinum Florida Gar. Any bros can identify?

Can you get some better pics of it. To me it looks like a WTT treatment gar. Hope I'm wrong and the original pic is just not showing it well.
