I'll be setting up a 300g african tank with a 140g sump (won't actually hold 140g with the lower baffles etc). There is a larger central section that is basically empty. Wondering if it would be good to set up a plant cutting section using something easy to grow like pothos (not a water plant, you'd recognize it as a vine type potted plant). I could build a tray from eggcrate where I can put the cutting's base through the eggcrate and hang into the water. Very easy to root in water and I'm thinking this might take alot of nitrates out of the water. Just set up a light on a timer and run it opposite hours as the main tank.
