Just got a hold of him...apparently I'm third in line at this point. Did find the pictures on Craigslist (wasn't refreshing for me at first for some reason).
i talked to this joe guy and had a very bad experience with him. i called him and told him i would like to come pick up the tank and he asked where i would be coming from and i told him i would be making the 5 hour drive from ohio to pick this tank up on sunday which is tomorrow and he told me oh oh its a 5 hour drive , just consider the tank sold. he told me to quit wasting his time and hung up on me. so i called this guy back and offered to pay him through paypal and i would make the drive tonight to come grab the tank and again told me to stop wasting his time .. i must say the guy was really ignorant and kind of a prick. I WOULD NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO DO BUSINESS WITH HIM. i do not care what kind of disease he has, it does not give anyone a right to treat people like he treated me, im a good guy with cash on hand, people to move tank, and a will to get it off of his asap. his attitude just lost him his sale!
P.S. if anyone has any show tanks as in very tall i am looking for some lmk

My mom lives in this town, and there are A LOT of shady people there. If your coming from out of state I wouldn't come alone.... Mchenry does have some good parts don't get me wrong...

Dude Mchenry is a very small town and most people are very friendly. I would assume that he thought lamanuts is not serious because he is so far away. I have not personally talk to him and im willing to go and check out the tank for you guys that are serious. I wonder if he would understand if someone explains to him that someone posted his post on CL on this site.. maybe his wondering why people from 5 hours away are contacting him and would make him think its not serious.
Steal deal. I paid a few grand for my 1.5 year old Tenecor 600 gallon 8x4x2.5 tank but it was a whole package system(tank, steel stand, light, crazy filtration system, the works) Although I don't really dig tall tanks but it's still a sweet deal. Hopefully someone grabs this. USA always has sweet deals on monster tanks.

I went and checked out the tank. I told him I was going to post it here because of the type of hard core big tank folks here. The guy seemed to be a nice enough guy to me, I think he probably doesn't believe your serious.
Anyway I'm no expert, but the acrylic itself seemed to be in good shape. A few scratches that would prevent it from being a show tank though. You would have to actually get into it to buff it out. The seams looked to be in good shape as best I could tell.
The only issue I had was that it had some adhesive along the edges that was used to adhere some wood onto that was used for decoration. If you take off the adhesive I think it would be pretty good. He has a ton of driftwood in it too!
I came home and have no idea how I would get it into the house, plus my wife said I would have to sell the other tank I just got...
Not a shady area though. I still think for the price if you want a huge tank it would be worth it.
