Emperor 280 I paid $5 for

I paid $5 for an emperor 280 at petco. Shocking. I'm attempting to put it on my small betta tank. I don't know what size it is yet. It's a hex either 5 or 10 gallon. I can't find my tape measure at the moment. I have two bettas and a blue ram in the tank now.

So the filter doesn't fit snug and secure but I think I can make it work. I always heard that these were great filters. I've never owned one but when I saw one at petco i wanted to buy it. It was listed at $55 but the guy rang it up and iy said $5. I said wow and said sure I'll take it for five. Then he called the manager and she said it must be clearance, $5 is good.

So yeah i hooked it up to my mini aquarium and the current is too strong for my fish... Maybe i need to buy a bigger tank now

Come to find out my tank is a 5gal hex after measuring it. I'm probably over stocked with my male betta, female betta, and blue ram. I'll probably get rid of the ram or get some heavy ornamentation. My male betta has already been terrorizing the other two. So i hooked the emperor 280 back up and baffled it. It seems to be working fine. It might need a minor adjustment or two but for now things seem okay. This is my first tank up in over 3 years. And I impulsively set it up last night when I found out my auntie still had her hexagon tank. Here is a picture.
