What is the best black sand for a 180 Gallon?

What is the best black sand, Brand and where to get it, for a 180 gallon? I want something that will not scratch the tank and that is easy to clean.

I have some stock now in the tank, do I need to wash the sand first, any experiences with with your acrylic tank? Do's and Dont's? I am located in Cerritos, CA.

The best is Tahitian moon sand.. It's pricey. If you are on a budget you could you use black diamond blasting sand from tractor supply.

Yes. Placos will leave pits in acrylic to....so will ray.

Tahitian moon sand = $20 for 20 pounds. So you're lookin at around $100. I used black s grade quartz sand. 50 pound bag for $16. And it's almost perfectly round so safer on bottom dwellers. I love it! I recently made the switch from pool filter sand. Hard to find though. Whereabouts you live?
