Arowana drop eye has anybody cured it

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it was quite a big frozen prawn & a small arowana - I noticed that its eye was bulging when he was trying to eat it, I never thought anything else of it until I read an article where some somebody said they fed a silver arowana a frozen prawn & notice it had drop eye straight after -

Coincidence.

If there was any real merit to this it would be all over the forums. We all feed our asian arowanas prawns and fish. You just got unlucky bro.

ok i use to feed alot of feeders
im not saying its the cause of this but one eyes was really down (right eye) but the left eyes was getting D.e and i stop and swich to tilapia and in couple of weeks his left eyes is normal but the right one its still down
what do u guys think about that ?

Prawns are OK for Arowana's but this prawn was frozen solid. I think your right I just got unlucky - his eye is not that bad I have seen Arowanas on INDO Dragon competition with worse eyes. my fish has one perfect eye & one slanting eye If it doesn't get any worse it will be OK - fingers crossed

Yuuuup!! Lol but all kidding aside skiddish silvers are really the reason they got drop eye. My silver (bought wild @ 12") had no drop eye, starting taking pellets pretty quick was fine till about a few months. Then one morning I heard a huge thud and come to find out it was the silver. As days go by and slowly I see it's eye starting to drop.

The reason I say white tank treatment is the problem is 2 aros from this batch that I know of have got drop eye

The white tank makes the shine levels go high for a period of time but aros focus on looking at the light with white tank the whole environment is bright making the aro look in different directions than it would normally look

I also feel this is why silvers are more prone to it as when kept in a tank they are getting more reflection in a tank than they would get in the wild in a muddy pond

Sooooooo many asian arowana are subject to WTT. That cant be it or we would see MANY more asian aros with drop eye as well.

you wi9ll notice its gold aros that get drop eye more reqular as there is no point putting a red in white tank

dont you think its strange that more and more xback and 24k are getting drop eye now and they are the types of asian aro subjected to WTT

like i said this is just my opinion and we are all allowed to have our own veiws
