Yea when u have a couple mean fh chasing other, it stress them out, so they cant get full colors n head n all, I use hate to divide my fh, but once I did the pearls, kok n colors came out
I divided mine with glass dividers

First time I got dividers it cost my $$ sec time got smart n went lowes n got glass, measure my tank inside got 4 $7 a piece way better then 3 acrylic cut $30 lol
